Average Household Wealth
This is something that ties me to UK...where I currently live!
I read some interesting statistics in a local newspaper and was eager to share.
Its the chart "How Britain's Wealth Divides"
Its the table that caught my eye!
Some amazing facts
Indians by ethnic origin is the second only to White by 17k in terms of average house hold wealth...
Well this is average so there could be very poor and very wealthy billionnaires...but it still caught my eye.....You will see when you read the other ethnic origins are less than 50% what "Whites and Indians" average household wealth is...
Another fact!
90% of full time employees earn less than 47k a year.....which translates to less than 34k after NI(National Insurance) and Income Tax...
That is approximately 2800 pounds a month which is about Rs.2.2 lakhs a month...that may sound a lot but not if you compare it with the expenses here.
At least a 1000 pounds of that will go in housing and related utilities no matter how small your acco is going to be....then average person's commute cost will be 150 pounds....so you are left with 1650 pounds for everything else....that is still 1.2 lakhs a month....to do everything else ...depending on the your size of the family...
This is just a calculation based on what I read.....I just found the information useful...and thought some of you may too....
Yeh...didnt forget about Kodai.....that is coming in detail soon!
This blog is all about little details as life unravels ......all in my own perspective....

TIES
I’ve taken the challenge to write a blog post every day for the month of February for National Blog Posting Month.
I had done this one month about 8 months ago.It indeed proved to be challenging and interesting..
This month its about TIES.
I decided to choose for the first day my TIES to cities.
Kodaikanal:
This is a town that I hold deep ties to.The reason this is where I grew from a child to a teenager in search of real me!....This was few decades ago as you can guess but I still hold fond memories of the town.
I do not remember all of my life spent there but I do have some vivid memories.
After I completed my School in 1987 I had a chance to go back there twice once during my graduation about 4 years later and once with my husband...about 15 years later.....although there are some vivid spots and activities I clearly remember there are several things I cant match up even in my thought...I have to content myself saying I was too small to comprehend and never thought I will remember them two decades later....
This is a very small town those days...It was apparently established by the British in 1845 as a Summer holiday Retreat. I will continue to write about our life in the boarding the best of my memory from my perspective.....

Twin Objectives
Inertia...Inertia...laziness...laziness...If there is any one giving awards for this I am sure to be receipient...
I have tried to get back to blogging all month long ...all year long and all decade long....but it just hasnt happened...
Let me not get into the detailed excuses that any one can give....
This year has been different....
We were just back from a whirlwind trip of Singapore - Bangalore - Kochi - Dubai - London all in a span of less than 14 days....All in all I think I slept in almost 10 different beds in the 14 days of travel....so now you see I had a reason not to blog...
Well this post is not about that its about what I intend to do this month and decade...
Last 5 years I have had the same two objectives...
Reduce weight ( my body weight I mean!)
Find a job ( in my language have an income!)
Well I have concluded that while the first is in my hand the second isn't completely...
So this year I thought let me begin taking one...reduce weight...
Now I am not getting into how I am going to do it...and but I can tell you soemthing
I need to immediatelty reduce 20 kgs...I know thats a lot...so I really need a miracle...
I am in no hurry and would be happy even a kilogram in a month....so all of you be prepared to get an update every month if I managed to reduce at all....
Its an onerous task for me....and I have not been able to do it last 5 years even when I really wanted to...
the second objective will wait as you see in further post what I am busy with most days....
So here I am with my new year/new decade resolution - a month late...its late than never I believe!

When Tanya was 9
This post was long overdue and ideally posted on December 11th...Thats how life has been just trying to catch up...but I am determined it should be posted at least on Jan 11th.
This is written how she would have hopefully perceived the world as it unfolded when she was 9 years old...
I turned 9 at Taipei .I remember cutting the cake on a cold morning and heading to school.I cut a cake in school too.I was really excited to spend a whole evening with two of my best friends at the American Club Taipei...Swimming and having all junk food.
Within a week we went to Singapore and then to Kochi where my grandparents live.
We celebrated Xmas there...When we headed back my Mom told me that I am no longer going to school in Taipei. It is time for us to move again...
The remaining days were hard as my parents were busy settling lots of things before we move.I was lucky to go to school one day and say Bye to all my friends...
We then landed in London and had to stay in Canary Wharf. It was a great break from all the activities I was involved in.The only thing we could do in the service apartment was watch local British Channels. We missed Disney Channel a lot.We were either looking at houses or watching TV.As usual my mom continued to pester me to do Kumon sheets but we did very little work.
About 10 days after our arrival it was snowing...we enjoyed watching the snowfall from the balconies as mom was very scared to send us out to play with snow should we fall sick...We finally moved to our home with very little things. Its going to be months before our things arrive.I began at a new school and started making friends...
I used to be one of the youngest in my old school now I am one of the oldest.
I am not too happy about it but there was no choice.
After about three weeks, I got admission in the current school and I had to move to the 6th primary school.I was thrilled to find out I was one of the best swimmers in my class.I spoke with American accent and people often asked me if I was from America.
As we settled down my family made friends with N one of my special friends in London...the only problem is we live very far away so we dont get to see each other very often.
We went to Paris Disney Land and to America during summer.I always wanted to go to America. It was a wish come true.I really liked the Niagara Falls.
The summer days were fun as we could cycle in the evenings and we made lots of friends in the neighbourhood.
I also acted in a pantomime for the first time.It was long hours of practice and I slowly gave up my dreams of becoming an actress.I am good at singing and I thing I will stick with that.
I started enjoying chess a lot more than before.
Finally I turned 10 and my mum held a Xmas party at home on the same day.We had good fun.

Blogging
Its taken me over a month to come and scribble here....
Thank God ...Google doesn't delete the blogs that are not active....else I would have to start one every few months.
I would love to blog much more often but sometimes you get tied in daily rituals that just needs attention the blog gets royally ignored and often forgotten.
It is these times I love fellow bloggers who pull me up....they come and leave a comment so much to say!...."Whats up Buddy " "Are you there still"
During this long silence these are the souls who reminded me " Hey you still have a blog!"
Ruch
Stopped by and commented...and also left a note that my blog is sometimes giving and error....
Thanks Ruch...I will get around to figure that out!
Ajai
I have not figured out how he got to my blog...but did leave a comment. Thanks Ajai...It is an effort to read other peoples blogs especially when you dont know them.
Then Reflections
has been kind nough to award me when I have almost forgotten that my blog existed...that was indeed a wake up call!

Then Jyoti tags me when I am sleeping on my blog.....
Thanks All for waking up...so hopefully I get back to the old vigour and spirit to the one thing we have in common..."we read and write blogs!"
